Susan enjoys all aspects of optometry and has a special interest in complex soft- and rigid contact lenses such as Sclerals, Orthokeratology and Myopia control.
Susan is a registered optometrist at Charl Laäs Optometrists. She grew up in Northcliff and in 2001 she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Optometry from the University of Johannesburg. She started her career in optometry in Johannesburg. Loving all aspects of optometry, she opted to expand her knowledge of optometry and business management by working as a permanent locum at several practices. She gained valuable experience during this period.
In 2015 Susan and her family of 5 moved down to Cape Town, and soon after she joined Charl Laäs Optometrists, where she quickly settled, knowing she had found her optometry home.
Susan enjoys clinical optometry, specifically the fitting of challenging soft and hard contact lenses, scleral contact lenses as well as orthokeratology. She prides herself in being extremely thorough in her work and enjoys balancing a career and family life in an environment where both are equally important.
Susan graduated with a Bachelors degree of Optometry (with diagnostic privileges) from the University of Johannesburg in 2006. Being committed to providing the best optometry care, Sherrie decided to expand her knowledge and in 2009 received a Postgraduate degree in Sports Vision from the University of Johannesburg.
She is a member of the Health Professions Council South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Optometric Association (SAOA).
Sherrie is committed to quality family eye care and building personal long-term relationships with her patients.
